Everything’s Lookin’ Peach Now

Autumn leaves on a path.

Rusted autumn amber
like marmalade on black toast
color chaotic, carmalized
above and below
a palette for the mind
my compass
water aflame, crackling
fresh ink, Kodak Gold
lone wolf wanderings
the auburn forest
beckons me

– “Equinox Whispers”

LITTLE THOUGHTS…

The equinox approaches, but I’ve had fall on my mind for a few moons. The leaves are turning already here. True, just a shade, but it was enough reason for me to rotate my wardrobe today and dust off my sweaters.

I love when the wind bites, when the trees stand naked and unashamed. I love forest walks in boots and warm layers, camera beneath my frozen fingers. 🍁📷 Anyone else ready for the turning seasons?

MIND MUSIC

Today I threw on Don’t Feed the Pop Monster by Broods. I picked the album partly because it reminds me of some of my favorite memories from a few years ago. Driving solo to Grand Rapids, Michigan, an hour away from my first tattoo with a light heart and hopefulness for the future. But also—the album color is orange. Fits the theme today, ha. 🍁 (See the song “Peach” for today’s post title inspiration. 🍑)

Yup, I feel ready for them. The “marmalade on black toast” line is especially a sweet texture of details (black toast maybe also hinting at summer becoming burnt out so that fall can have its turn in the spotlight? possibly). Creatively flavored post. 🙂

Ooh, I like your interpretation of that line! (That’s my favorite line too). Originally I wrote “brown toast”, but black seemed more indicative of that *feeling* I was going for. Thank you for your kind words and thoughts! 🍁

Samantha!! My friend! I just thought about you. Was in bed and decided to look at instagram to find you but realized you haven’t posted in a long time. I’m glad to see your blogging and doing good 💕

Love the poem! So ready for Autumn 🍂 even though I live in Florida and we don’t see the leaves change (always green with Palm trees 🌴). Will be listening to your playlist.

So glad you are doing good. Miss your instagrams post. But so happy to re-connect with you here in your blog. Happy blessings, my friend. ✨

OH MY GOODNESS!! Hello Amaryllis! Reading your message has me beaming—it’s so good to hear from you and connect again! 🩵🩵

I didn’t plan to abandon ship on Instagram, but it kind of happened when I found this space to share longer form content, haha. 😅 I’m so grateful you popped over here to say hello! Eeek!

I hope you and your family are doing well. And hopefully you get a little rest from the summer heat. (I’m jealous of those green palm trees though and have got to get my butt down to Florida again sometime. I miss it ha! 🌴)

      Sending you virtual hugs!! ☺️✨

I am ready for fall! I wore pj pants for the first time this weekend. Last night at the band festival I put on a hoodie! Your words are beautiful; and elegant. I love this. The picture is perfect too!
