Today I’d like to share an instrumental playlist I’ve curated that keeps my creativity alight with my current project. The rules of curation are simple: if a song moves me, pulls me into a daydream, or arouses an urge to scribble ideas onto the nearest napkin or envelope, it makes it to the writing playlist I’ve named "Move Me".
Repeated quietly in the background, this playlist makes it easier to envision my characters’ emotions and perceptions of their world. Sometimes I close my eyes, listen to a song, and can even see a "music video montage" of a character’s journey.
So without further ado, here are the songs currently keeping me fired and inspired. (I recommend listening on shuffle with headphones if these songs are your type and you give ’em a go!) From Game of Thrones to The Imitation Game, you’ll find a wide variety of soundtracks to spark your creativity. This list will evolve over the course of my book-writing adventure, so I hope to share its evolution from time to time.
Thank you for joining me today! Perhaps you’ll discover a song that inspires you too…

March 8, 2023 at 2:37 pmI completely agree! I keep a separate playlist with vocals for this very reason. And I love watching this instrumental playlist evolve, in sync with the tones of the stories I’m writing. Thanks for the comment! I’m glad you enjoyed some of these recommendations 🙏🏻
